Day of Wrath 1943

In a 17th-century Danish village, an elderly woman is accused of witchcraft. Under the shadow of flight, imprisonment, confession, and burning at stake, the young wife of an elderly priest falls in love with the priest's son. Her confession of these illegal matters to her husband leads to his death. At the funeral ceremony, the priest's young widow is condemned as a witch. Will the widow's lover come to her defense or will the day of vengeance return?
